"Bubbling up in our own good time-- online."

Writing has been a hobby of mine since I was very young It started with diaries filled with my hopes and
dreams, and eventually journals.

During college I found that even though I was horrible in math, I was a pretty good writer.  That news
made me very happy. It was then that I started to take my writing more seriously.

I used writing for my own personal introspection and healing. I always had hope that my words might help
someone else heal.  I recently started a series of poems based on my own personal memories of my
abusive marriage. The poem “Healing” is one of these poems.

I usually focus on nonfiction, but recently I have found an interest in playing around with fiction, or faction,
which my good friend and writing group leader calls fiction based on the truth. Often I find it easier to
work through the healing process if I write from a fictional place.

The “Willow”, this is a true story about a forest fire in my small town near Yosemite National Park.  This
piece was written shortly after the fire was finally contained.  Summers in the California Mountains have
become a time filled with the constant, and serious threat and fear of fire. We hope that people can
become aware of the huge part they play in the prevention of these forest fires.

“Healing”. A poem.  Finally feeling my body let go of the natural protection those who are abused or those
with trauma carry with them for years and years.
